The future of solar looks bright with new technologies. According to data from the International Energy Agency, we may see a 16-fold increase in solar generation in the next 20 years because of a decrease in the price of technology and changing attitudes toward clean energy and climate change.
Perovskites are a new type of material that could help with this change. This groundbreaking technology can be spray painted on virtually anything, which makes for a flexible solution to hard-to-reach or uneven surfaces. Silicon solar panels have been tried and tested; perovskites are still undergoing testing in labs, so it’s exciting to see how this technology will unfold and change the solar industry worldwide.
The recently published REN21 Renewables 2018 Global Status Report shows that China is leading the way with renewable energy investment. While the country dominates with 45% of total global investment in the sector, Britain is reducing investment in solar and wind energy by a whopping 65%.
